Lewis & Clark Montessori Charter School (LCMCS) Primary Program is a school, not a daycare. We are licensed and operated as part of a K-8 Public Montessori Charter School. All programs follow an academic calendar year (September-June). Enrollment is on a rolling first come, first served basis. We do keep a waitlist in case of unexpected openings. We accept students from ages 18 months to 4 years who are toileting independently.
Enrollment Information and Process:
The school day for Primary students operates Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm for full-day or 8:00 am to 12:00 pm for half-day enrollment. We currently offer an after school care program from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday-Thursday, and from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm on Friday’s. A separate fee is charged for participation in these programs. They are not part of your tuition.
Primary Program students follow a gradual entry schedule during their first week of school to make the transition into a new environment as smooth as possible. Our lead classroom guides (teachers), the program director and school leadership are Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) certified. Families interested in enrolling their children in the LCMCS Primary Program are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the philosophies of a Montessori education.
Once you have completed the Inquiry Form, we will follow up to answer any questions and schedule a tour and observation visit to our school. This visit is for adults only. Please plan for your visit to last at least an hour to an hour and a half. During the visit you will complete a Family Intake Form. All prospective families are required to visit our school before submitting an application. School tours and observations are typically offered starting in October on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:00 am.
After your school visit, you may request an Application for Admission. This must be completed and returned to the school before the admission process can proceed. Once you have toured the school, observed in a classroom environment and turned in the necessary forms, the school will notify you of our admission decision. When accepted, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance, Registration Form, and Student Information Form, all of which must be signed and returned along with a non-refundable $250 Registration Fee, to secure your child’s placement.
Thank you for your interest.
