The LCMCS Board of Directors recruiting candidates to fill several upcoming vacancies. We are seeking candidates who desire to promote Montessori education in the public sector. Serving on the Board is an opportunity to support and contribute to the success of LCMCS school leaders, teachers & staff, and students. Board member time commitment includes monthly board meetings and service on committees or work groups.
A few of the current Board goals are as follows:
- • Community Outreach and Engagement
- • Advance DEI and anti-racism efforts in priority areas throughout the school, including facilitation of school name change.
- • Enhance board recruitment and succession planning.
- • Support the school’s efforts to implement the strategic plan and develop outdoor learning environment.
- • Provide ongoing governance & fiduciary oversight.
The Board would benefit from candidates with experience in Business, Community Engagement, Education (Leadership/Montessori), Finance/Accounting, Fundraising/Grant Writing, Legal, Licensed Professional Contractor (Building/ Landscape), and Marketing.
The LCMCS Board of Directors values lived experience in order to better serve, reflect, and represent our community. We seek applicants from historically underrepresented communities including: BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, religious minority, migrant, refugee, differently abled, housing/food insecure, and all economic backgrounds.
Individuals interested in serving in a leadership capacity on the Board are highly desired and encouraged to indicate their interest in their application.
