Welcome Back!

Thanks to everyone who sent us feedback about the newsletter before the holiday break. One common theme was the desire for a more consistent newsletter schedule.

For the rest of the year, we'll  publish "The Compass" every other Wednesday.  You can view the schedule, read old newsletters, and find just about anything else you might need here on the parent's page of the school website.

A Leap in Time!

Take A Leap In Time with us on Saturday, February 29th at this year's fundraising auction and celebrate leap day in your best retro duds.  It will be a blast from the past! Childcare is available.  Click here to learn more. Purchase your auction tickets this month and receive 15 bonus raffle tickets!

More info, ways to help, get involved or make a donation will be included in an auction email coming later this week.

School Spirit Tastes Great (part deux)

The second (of three) family restaurant nights this year will be at MOD pizza in Gresham on Tuesday, January 21st.  Join us for dinner, feed the whole family, and raise some funds for our school. Spread the word to all your friends, family & coworkers.  This is an all day opportunity so stop by MOD anytime between 10:30am & 10pm and mention you’re supporting LCMCS.

After School Fun!

There's still room in many of the after school classes run by the Community Learning Center (CLC). The Circus class needs at least 4 more students to be viable.  See the offerings and sign up here.

Coming soon: Knitting (Wednesdays) and Jazz Band!

Meet your Classroom Ambassador

Yeah! Primary through Older El classrooms all have Classroom Ambassadors now.  These individuals volunteered to coordinate classroom help, class community activities, and class participation in school-wide events throughout the year.  Read more about these super volunteers and how you can support your child(ren)’s classroom and school.

Snow Day!

Snow Day!! Yesterday was the first school day this year with a significant amount of that magical white stuff that kids love.  What better way to celebrate than for everyone to go outside together and enjoy the wonders and beauty that Mother Nature provided our community.

Help keep our food program strong.

With only two full-time staff members (Tonya & Jessica) prepping, feeding and cleaning up for 45% of our students every day,  they are stretched thin. Unfortunately, we have no room in our budget to hire any additional kitchen staff. An hour or two of your time can make a big difference.  Kitchen volunteers are most needed in the afternoons on Mondays & Wednesdays.

Be sure to check our volunteer page regularly for an ongoing list of volunteer needs!
